Always on the road? Missing crucial documents or e-mails?
Well look no further Vision have the right data product for you! There are now 3 types of sever configurations that you can choose from. Which one is right for you or your business?
BlackBerry Internet Solution (BIS)
This is for businesses that do not operate a server within their organisation or do not operate a compatible exchange server. The compatible operating systems are Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino or Novell Groupwise.
BIS allows it’s users to receive emails from their POP3 and IMAP accounts such as “hotmail” “sky” “gmail) etc. Emails that are received at the email account are then pushed out to the BlackBerry every 15 minutes or so automatically. Users can have multiple email accounts forwarding to their BlackBerry.
The functionality of BIS is not as comprehensive as BES in terms of Calendar synchronisation and Inbox synchronisation but that aside it’s a great set up for the individual wanting email on the move at a very affordable price especially if it used as your mobile phone as well.
BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES)
This is the version for those that want to be able to access everything on the main server such as files and share drives. BES gives full synchronisation with calendars and your Inbox. Open attachments and save them straight in to your files. Access contact list and task list as if you were at your office PC.
Suitable for large organisations with Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino, Novell Groupwise operating systems. Requires installation of BES software on to additional server or PC running alongside the main server.
Businesses requiring all the functionality of BES who use hosted servers for their business will be pleased to know that BES can be hosted also.
